Fiber Laser Markers
Technology: How Fiber Optic Laser Works
Fiber optic lasers use a silica glass optical fiber , then rare earth elements such as erbium, ytterbium, neodymium, dysprosium, praseodymium, thulium and holmium are added .
Fiber laser markers have a huge advantage: they are extremely stable lasers . In fact, when a fiber optic laser generates its beam inside the core, beam delivery does not require complex or sensitive optical equipment.
Fiber lasers can therefore handle shocks , bumps and vibrations making them particularly suitable for any assembly line.
Benefits
- Fiber optic laser markers have a straight, small beam, allowing for a better focus.
- Fiber lasers are efficient from the postural energeticA fiber laser can convert nearly 100 percent of the input it receives into a beam, thus limiting the amount of energy converted into thermal energy. Fiber laser markers tend to remain safe from heat damage or breakage.
- They are industrial lasers, therefore, they require a zero maintenance.

Q-SWITCHED LASER FIBER
Arca manufactures and sells various Q-switched ytterbium fiber lasers for all types of marking and industries. Our laser models have power levels from 10 to 100W.
The fiber laser produces a “pulsed” beam of light. This technique allows for extremely high peak power , ideal for marking even the most resistant materials. It is suitable for marking the vast majority of surfaces, including metals , polymers , and ceramic materials.
It allows for better print definition and a longer life expectancy (100.000 hours).
MOPA LASER FIBER (Master Oscillator Power Amplifier)
The MOPA (Master Oscillator Power Amplifier) fiber laser is one of the most flexible lasers on the market and can be used for many applications: in terms of pulse duration it can simulate the properties of conventional fiber lasers (relatively long pulses) and those of classic solid-state lasers (short pulses) such as Nd:YAG or Nd:YVO4.
For example, with short pulses and lower pulse energy, the material is heated less and the area of the heat-affected zone is reduced. This translates into greater advantages and possibilities for laser marking metals and plastics :
- Less burning/melting in the edge area of metal engravings
- Less heat development during annealing of markings on the metal, which leads to better corrosion behavior
- Creating reproducible annealing colors on stainless steel
- Black anodized aluminum marking
- Controlled melting of plastic
- Less foam with plastic
- More uniform and sometimes higher contrast markings on some plastics.
The advantages of conventional fiber laser sources remain unchanged:
- Without maintenance
- Long duration
- Air cooled
3-axis fiber laser marking
All Arca laser markers, regardless of technology, can use a 3-axis marking control module . This allows marking on different planes , inclined surfaces , and curves.
The 3-axis control allows you to avoid expensive piece handling systems or the replacement of the piece support jigs .
Solidity and safety
Arca fiber optic laser markers stand out for their industrial solidity and safety.
Made of stainless steel and available in an IP65 version , they are extremely robust and use high-level components.
No improvisation: the best laser sources and focal lenses available on the world market, to offer performance and a life expectancy at the top of international technology.

Fiber Laser Markers Features
European-certified modules
Machine enabling controlled by key selector.
Emergency stop circuit complete with interruption and protection control circuit with interlock system. Both circuits are equipped with their own redundant dual-channel safety module (Pilz-Pnoz) with mandatory reset.
The modules are certified up to performance level “PL-e” according to EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL CL 3 according to EN/IEC62061.
A single multifunction industrial connector (I/O) allows optimal management of all machine states and alarm conditions.
Control unit
The control unit for fiber optic laser markers has a main switch and status LEDs in an ergonomic position. It can be fixed on a column or placed in a horizontal (desktop) or vertical (tower) position, thanks to the provision of supports, for easier integration with the production line.
Support structure
Benchtop support structure for fiber optic laser markers, with position adjustment above the product to be marked, for optimal focusing.
Entry-level class 4 solution. Complete with vertical adjustment via a ball screw and horizontal adjustment (both with millimetric references). The support surface is pre-drilled for the easy positioning of any jigs.
Accident prevention protection
Laser Box safety protection for laser markers. Entry-level Class 1 solution.
